Janet Tedder's Board Page
Dear Friends,
I'd like to share my story with you on how I became involved with Learning Together and the impact this organization has made on our family.
Our daughter, Hannah, has Autism as well as a Sub-mucous Cleft Palate. She went from a typically developing child at 18 months to not speaking at all. The first 3 ½ years of Hannah’s life were spent in and out of specialists offices and one therapy session after another. After relocating back to Raleigh in June of 2010 we were fortunate that by chance we were told about Learning Together. When Hannah started Learning Together in the Fall of 2010 not only did her speech explode from countless therapy sessions but from the love and support of her teachers and administrators. Hannah’s social skills have grown leaps and bounds.
We are so blessed to have become a part of the Learning Together family as we continue to watch Hannah grow in all areas of her development. Through a lot of hard work and continued dedication from the Learning Together staff Hannah is transitioning into regular Kindergarten for the upcoming school year. Thank you just doesn’t seem to be enough.
I am honored to have been asked to sit on the Board of Directors for Learning Together. It is important for me and my family to be able to give back what we can for all that Learning Together has done for Hannah and our entire family.
I hope that you to will make the decision to get involved. I invite you and your family to take a tour of the Center and to meet the individuals who are helping children on a daily basis, to attend one of our special events, to make a donation online, or to be an advocate for children of abilities! If you are not sure on how you want to become involved, then ask me.
Thank you for allowing me to share our family's story with you!
Sincerely,
Janet West Tedder
