Learning Together serves children ages 18 months – 5 years, with and without development delays/disabilities.

The enrollment process for all children ages 18 months to 5 years, is initiated by the parent or guardian. Please contact Charles Skeeter, Assistant Director of Operations and Education, at (919) 856-5200 ext. 5386, or email him at charles@learningtogether.org for more information.

Unlike most preschools in our area, Learning Together DOES NOT charge an application fee. There is no cost to fill out the enrollment form and we will not ask for any payment information.

Enrollment Processes:

Children with a developmental delay or disability ages 18 months to 3:

1. Contact Learning Together regarding availability of openings. Please share with us the child’s date of birth and preferred times:

  • Full Time: 7:30am-5:30pm

2. Schedule a tour of Learning Together. We provide tours between 9:00 – 11:30am, as this is when you will see the classrooms participating in learning centers. Accommodations can be made if necessary for different times.

3. During the tour we will discuss your child’s strengths and needs and how we may best serve you and your family. If your child has an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP), it is helpful if you bring it.

4. If you choose to enroll your child, you will be given an application and a tuition agreement to complete. Together we will set an enrollment date.

Children with a developmental delay or disability ages 3 - 5:

Children with special needs, over the age of three, are placed at Learning Together by Wake County Public Schools Preschool Services. The recommendation for placement at Learning Together is made by the child’s IEP team which includes the parents. Placement is then approved by Learning Together’s staff. There is no cost for your child to attend Learning Together during the school hours of 9am-3:30pm on the traditional WCPSS calendar.

1. Contact Learning Together regarding availability of openings. Please share with us the child’s date of birth and preferred times:

  • Full Time: 9:00am-3:30pm
  • Before/After Care may be arranged for an additional fee: Before Care: 7:30 to 9:00am, After Care: 3:30 to 5:30pm

2. Schedule a tour of Learning Together. We provide tours between 9:00 – 11:30am, as this is when you will see the classrooms participating in learning centers. Accommodations can be made if necessary for different times.

3. During the tour we will discuss your child’s strengths and needs and how we may best serve you and your family. If your child has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), it is helpful if you bring it.

4. If the Wake County Public School System agrees that Learning Together is the most appropriate placement for your child, you will be given enrollment paperwork that must be returned within one week of enrollment.

Children without a developmental delay or disability ages 18 mos. - 5 years of age:

4. Learning Together accepts payment through the DHHS Child Care Voucher Program.

Learning Together has 6 inclusive classrooms, class placement is based on age and developmental stage.

Koalas: 18 months – 2.5 years
Bears: 2.5 – 3.5 years
Giraffes: 3 – 4 years
Bumblebees: 3 – 5 years
Kangaroos: 4 – 5 years
Owls: 4 -5 years

Preschool Hours:

Full Time: 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Before + After School Care*

Before School: 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM
After School: 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM

Fees for all Learning Together program services are based upon competitive county market rates. There are set tuition rates for children who attend Learning Together who are typically developing. Childcare Subsidy Vouchers are accepted.

*Before + After School Care is available to Wake County Public School students for an additional fee and is included in the tuition rate for all other students.
